Salt Lake Comic Con 2017 Schedule



It's time for another year of Salt Lake Comic Con and another hectic schedule for me. But! that doesn't mean it's not a helluva lot of fun. I hope you're able to join me at any of these panels. Especially if you like Star Wars. And please, please, please come to my signing and visit. Get some books signed. I'd love that enormously.

Here is my Thursday schedule:


Everything here is a highlight. That first panel about behind the scenes of the prequels is with Pablo Hidalgo and I'll be asking him questions about what it was like to be there on set for most of the prequels. Then I'll be asking questions of Michael Biehn, who I've been a fan of since I was a little kid. Aliens and Terminator were favorites. If you want to ask him a question, please hit me up on Twitter with it. I will ask it at the panel.

And you don't want to miss Fauxthentic History's Infinity Gauntlet live episode. It's going to be soooo good.

There's a lot to love here, too. That first panel, The Cinema Behind Star Wars is going to be Matt Martin and I talking about the influences of Star Wars and I've prepared a video presentation actually. The Thrawn panel will be great, too. It's me, Matt, Timothy Zahn talking about everyone's favorite Grand Admiral. 

The rest are all great, too. If you like Star Wars, you'll see a lot of me.

I'm also, between the Star Wars animation panel and the Twin Journeys panel, I'll be participating in Patrick Rothfuss's Worldbuilders party. You can still get tickets here.  I'll be playing Mysterium with people who buy tickets and auctioning off a signed copy of A Children's Illustrated History of Presidential Assassination. Be there.

As for my writing and creative life, I've been swamped with getting the short film for the Sundance Film Festival deadline. So, that's that.

I've had a lot of pieces come out, but I've been terrible at keeping track of them. But my Patreon story is done, I'll post it as soon as Salt Lake Comic Con is over.

The Scoop

So, I've decided to save the below "About Me" in amber, trapped in time, as it were and sort of start over from scratch since the mission of the site is a little different now. I'm making a go of earning money for all of my writing. I'm working to convert my body of work here into something that will provide me some means of income that will justify how much time I spend writing in a day. The Hope of Humanity

This is but a sample of this story.  The complete version is available in my print collection  Man Against the Future.   From there, you can order signed copies, or buy it for the Kindle or the Nook. The year was 2081 and so many of the social problems humans had faced over the last hundred years were still a pretty big problem. Most people were still poor, corporations still ran the government, and politicians were constantly caught with prostitutes of both sexes, living and dead. When politicians weren't blowing each other's personal lives completely out of proportion for political gain, they were starting wars with other countries. Sometimes, they would even start wars with people inside their own country, but those were usually ideological. Perhaps the biggest and worst change was that the polar ice caps had melted and much of the Mojave Desert was now prime beachfront property, and the air across the globe tasted like you were sucking on a tailpipe.
